Whew! It has been a minute! I tried to unplug a bit for the month of September, blogging included. BUT… I’m back and so excited to show you our favorite renovation project since we started this circus. Awhile back I posted some before pictures of our laundry room, and you can read about that here. I am so excited to show you the final product that I’m not even going to recap all the details. I don’t often use the phrase “can’t even”, but y’all… I can’t even. My husband rocked this out, and it’s pretty perfect.
(I literally have butterflies in my stomach I am so excited for you to see this.) What a transformation!
It took forever to decide which type of drying racks I wanted. I ultimately settled on these black-tipped, chrome, industrial wall mounts. They fold close to the wall when not in use, but have plenty of drying capacity for our family’s clothes.
The black and white penny tile from Lowe’s is such a statement, but it doesn’t take up space. It ended up being MUCH easier to lay than the tile we used in our kitchen and powder bathroom (here). Perfect.
The walls are Mission White by Behr; classic oil-based Black by Behr for the cabinets and windows.
I had a few different things in mind for the space between the washer and the wall. I used a black steel pipe with flanges up high to add more hanging/drying space. I ended up moving the cart we had been using for a kitchen island into the space. I like the cart as a folding table in the laundry room 100% more than I did in the kitchen.
And, because laundry is my least favorite chore of all time, I quickly typed up a reminder for myself and hung it on the wall using a picture frame I already had. You can find similar prints online to purchase, but it was easy enough to make.
The light fixture is from a local store called Southeastern Salvage. I’m sure it was originally designed to hold an Edison light, but I can’t stand those. I popped a bright white LED bulb in there for now and may switch it out to a taller bulb soon enough.
So! What do you think?! I have ordered a few different baskets to add in, but I couldn’t wait to show you! Having a bright, functional, uncluttered space to do our laundry is one of my newest blessings, and I am so thankful.
